New Orleans: Left Behind Again! (week 456)

Left behind again!  Grandma Paula and Grandpa Mike came to stay with us this week because our parents spent four days and nights in New Orleans, LA without us.  They said it was for Dad's work, but who goes to NOLA for work?  This time, it was for the Bloomberg Innovation Team grant that Dad is working on.  We had to stay back because we had school and other kid stuff.  As we get older, it burns a little to be left behind.  Particularly because I like to follow all the professional sports teams and look at pictures of their stadiums, I want to go to see all the cities that they visit.  I do my best to make them feel guilty (actually Chris is really good at this point), but they say that spending time with our grandparents is really good for us; for our grandparents; and for them.

While they were away, Grandma and Grandpa took us to stay with the puppies at Uncle Ron and Aunt Karen's house.  Those two dogs (Cosmo) are crazy!  I believe that they remembered us from the time we visited at Easter.  This time, we went to the Ponoma County Fair and made all kinds of crafts; saw all kinds of animals; ate all kinds of crap; and rode all kinds of rides.

By the time that Mom and Dad got home, we were all exhausted (particularly the Grandparents) but Dad was right: it was good to spend time with our grandparents even if we got left behind.  It was also really good for our parents to spend some time alone together, eating the incredible food (Praline Connection), listening to the incredible music (Blue Nile), and riding bikes around the City (Louis Armstrong Park, Treme, Garden District).
