The Last Weeks of Summer (week 453)

As Summer winds down, the entire family is on edge looking forward to the changes ahead: start of the school, a new semester of teaching, all the volunteer organizations ramping-up again, and getting ready for the day (no sleeping in).  Although Summer vacation is memorable and amazing, it is a shock to everyone when it comes to an end, and not everyone behaves very well when there are big changes ahead.

When we were in New York, we received word that I was accepted into the Junior Golf Program at Heartwell Golf Course.  This is exciting because you start classes when you are 6 years old, and have to go through a bunch of steps before you get on the waiting list.  Chris and I both love golf and dream of someday playing on the golf course.  However, you have to pass another series of tests before they let you onto that!  In any event, I finally got to take the next step which involved getting my second (and much better set) of golf clubs. It also meant that Chris inherited my old set of clubs (his first real set), which made him very excited.

This past week, we also attend the baptism for Morgan Alameda in La Canada Flintridge, taught Sunday school at the church and attended Tyler Hubers 2nd birthday party!  It was a busy time as everyone rushed to get stuff done before Labor Day weekend and the start of school.
