Big Brother Ben (week 205)

New York! New York! This week, Chris and I got to go on the big plane to see Grandma Dubby in Long Island where there was snow on the ground, a chill in the air, and a giant clock in Time Square. Dada couldn't make the trip because he had to work, so it was up to me to help mama with Chris on the Jet Blue plane. We got off to a rocky start because the airports in New York were closed the day before due to the weather. They have been having a lot of blizzards this year. As a result, we were stuck in the airport for about two hours before we finally took off. It ended-up being a very long day.

Christopher is a very social guy, and was excited by all the people that were sitting around us in the airplane. In fact, he was so excited that he didn't sleep the entire trip. Instead, he climbed around on the seat, climbed around on mama's lap, tried to close my DVD movie player, and yelled a lot. Luckily, we were in the back of the plane so it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Luckily, we flew during the day so there were other kids on the plane and nobody was really sleeping.

When we finally got to New York, there was lots of snow on the ground. We got to throw snowballs, go sledding, and take the train into New York City. I was a little concerned because the last time that I tried to get into the City over the summer time, the train tower burned down and every train on the Island stopped for like three days. We were stranded and had to be rescued by Grandpa Andy. This time, the train made it--thankfully--because it was cold outside.

In Manhattan, we went to Times Square to see the big ball and the big clock that dropped on New Year's Day. Talk about a dream come true. We also went to the M&M store and played video games at the Dave and Busters. It was a great time for kids and adults alike. Days later, I was still talking about it on the phone with Dada.

We also had a party for Aunt Lindsay called a shower. I am not sure why they call it a shower. It was pretty much just a party...no water...but we were celebrating for my new cousin who is coming along in March or something. Christopher spent the entire time walking around to different adults who gave him treats. He also kept taking pretzels off the tray, eating half, and then putting the rest of the pretzel back on the tray. He needs some work on his party moves. Nonetheless, he was so charged-up on treats that he spent another day without sleeping.

On Tuesday, we are going home so that we can see our other grandparents. Rumor has it that the fun express is going to stop next at Grandpa John and Grammy's house. I can't wait to play baseball and run the bases at the big stadium!
